While brushing and flossing are essential components of good oral hygiene, the foods and beverages you consume daily play a significant role in your dental health. Foods That Strengthen Your Teeth

Calcium-rich foods like cheese and milk help strengthen tooth enamel and support healthy jaw bone structure. These foods also contain casein, a protein that helps stabilize and repair enamel.

Crunchy fruits and vegetables such as apples, carrots, and celery act as natural toothbrushes, scrubbing away food particles and plaque while stimulating saliva production. Saliva is your mouth’s natural defense against cavities, helping to neutralise acids and wash away bacteria. Foods high in phosphorus, like eggs, fish, and lean meats, work together with calcium to rebuild and protect tooth enamel.

Foods That Weaken Your Teeth

Sugary treats and beverages are the most notorious culprits for tooth decay. Sugar feeds the bacteria in your mouth, creating acids that attack enamel and lead to cavities. Acidic foods and drinks like citrus fruits, tomatoes, and coffee can erode enamel over time.   • Wait 30 minutes after consuming acidic foods before brushing
